You will work with the lighting team to deliver road, urban and amenity lighting design projects. You will also carry out site surveys, produce lighting and electrical designs drawings, reports, and other documentation. The successful candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and can create drawings without supervision. The successful candidate must have working knowledge of Lighting Reality software.
You will be required to take ownership of the design related tasks throughout the entire design and construction process.
In addition, you will undertake-site survey works for various lighting schemes to ensure designs are feasible and coordinated with other disciplines, constructible, and can be safely maintained.
A bit about the role
Undertaking surveys, site work and assessments.
Undertaking lighting and electrical calculations using Lighting Reality and Amtech software.
Preparing reports and presentations (feasibility to detailed reports).
Estimating and budget preparation.
Project and budget Management.
Ensure all project files are up to date and comply with the QMS system
Preparing drawings using AutoCAD.
Undertake risk assessments,
Schedules and associated works.
Assist Project Managers to ensure that deadlines are met and within budget
Use best practice at all times.
You will be responsible for coordinating different design tasks with various clients, contractors, manufacturers, and internal and external design teams
The position comes with
£25,000-£35,000 annual salary depending on experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum 4 years’ experience (preferably in a consultancy within a street lighting team) Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) Experience of using AutoCAD to create detailed street lighting drawings. Microsoft Office Experience of using Lighting Reality software to produce detailed lighting calculations Experience of producing concept, preliminary, and detailed lighting designs Site survey experience Good understanding of lighting standards BS 5489, CEN 13201, ILP Technical Reports and Guidance Notes. Experience in dealing with DNO, manufactures, and contractors. An electrical or engineering-based qualification Membership of the ILP / IET would be also be advantageous.
