Job Description

 Our team work on advisory and transactional projects across Corporate Finance, Investment, Development, Fund Management, Equity Placement, Real Estate Valuation and CRE loan valuation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret occupational leases, research data, finance facility / loan documents, cost consultant reports, corporate structures and common cross-border considerations in order to determine financial underwriting assumptions.
  • Develop financial modelling expertise adopting our established internal approach to model design and construction, and best practice processes.
  • Build and manipulate real estate cash flow models, carrying out interrogation and audits of those models
  • Data input and extraction, preparing bespoke analysis.
  • Conduct scenario analysis at property, portfolio, financial structure and vehicle level.
  • Understand and modify existing VBA to perform sensitivity analysis and allow multiple scenarios to be assessed simultaneously.
  • Liaise with geographical, asset class and function specialist teams within CBRE to extract necessary information and assumptions.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of all Corporate Finance capabilities and cross-selling opportunities across CBRE.
  • Build knowledge of property market (e.g. Current activity, key players, trends) and different client types, including their commercial drivers and needs.
  • Proactively manage all client follow up and information requests.
  • Promote innovation and commitment to work process improvement.
  • Interpret instructions, assessing required timescales and potential issues, seeking help and advice appropriately.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of valuation terminology, lease types (by sector and country), fund structures and financing types including practical interpretation.
  • Processes and procedures for the execution of transactions including the underwriting and due diligence of various investment and development opportunities.
  • Macro / micro economic, financial and property market trends for each specialist product area
  • Different return requirements for different investor types.
  • Impact of fund structure and debt and how they affect performance and returns
  • Property law/rights of landlords and tenants.
  • The basic differences between property law and practice in UK and continental Europe.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A strong academic background with bachelors or post-graduate degree preferably with a specialisation in real estate or finance. Previous exposure to real estate businesses, assets, and vehicles highly preferred; otherwise, a demonstrated interest, ability and willingness to pursue a career within real estate. Transactional/project experience, ideally in the real estate sector. Highly numerate and able to grasp complex investment scenarios. Pro-active and enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team. Confident and assertive where required. Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met. Exceptional attention to detail, demonstrating a professional and client-focussed approach to work. Excellent, clear and concise communication skills both verbally and in writing. Excellent IT skills.
