Job Description

The role is as follows:
Broadband Applications:
Initial validation of applications Coordinate providers access to develop proposals Complete technical reviews on new broadband way leave applications including: Consultation with the Council's technical teams including development, asset, delivery and local housing management teams

Consultation with the Councils Health and Safety teams and stakeholders where relevant Resident consultation

Liaise with broadband providers to address matters arising

Produce a final report detailing the Council's requirements in respect of each application

Lead on pre start meetings with each provider coordinating the Council's requirements in respect of site plans Working with the health and safety team oversee the resolution of any matters relating to health and safety that arise

Maintain oversight of each broadband providers activities during the onsite phase

Ensure local housing management teams are provided with adequate visibility of programmes and appropriate information is provided to residents by providers

Snag/ accept handover for all sites on behalf of the Council

Commission and manage consultant activity on all of the above during periods of peak demand

Aerial Applications:
Coordinate activities with the Council's surveyor's responsible for the receipt of applications and development of heads of terms, where applicable

Undertake an Initial assessment of potential sites including consulting with stakeholders

Coordinate providers access to develop proposals on suitable sites

Complete full technical reviews of all provider applications including:

Consultation with the Council's technical teams including development, asset, delivery and local housing management

Liaise with Telecommunications providers to address matters arising

Produce a final report detailing the Council's requirements in respect of each application

Liaise with the Council's Surveyors, regarding the production of heads of terms

Attend pre start meetings with each Telecommunications provider coordinating the Council's involvement

Maintain oversight of each broadband providers activities during the onsite phase

Ensure local housing management teams are provided with adequate visibility of programmes and appropriate information is provided to residents by providers

Snag/ accept handover for all sites on behalf of the Council

Commission and manage consultant activity on all of the above during periods of peak demand

Ongoing management

Maintain a register of applications including current status

Maintain a register of broadband and aerial installations

Co-ordinate feedback from local housing management teams relating to installations

Undertake annual reviews of installations as required by procedures, providing feedback to Telecommunications providers and overseeing the resolution of any issues that arise


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Graduate or equivalent qualification in construction or engineering Experience of working in a project management and technical environment; delivering repairs or improvements within the public and/ or private sectors Experience of delivering projects in a way that achieves high levels of customer satisfaction Experience of Working in a housing environment Knowledge of effective project management methodologies, e.g. PRINCE 2 Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Corporate membership of a senior, technically orientated institution - RICS, RIBA, ICE, IMechE, CIOB or equivalent by experience would be desirable
