Job Description

We require a Sustainability/WELL consultant to support the delivery of sustainable building solutions on high profile projects, as part of a growing national team.

The Building Performance Group primarily supports the UK business in terms of sustainability advice within the Built Environment. While the group works on single building projects it also provides sustainability & energy master planning advice for both urban and semi-rural developments, as well as BREEAM and LEED consulting services.

We have experience of a comprehensive range of different building types including; commercial offices, residential, education, healthcare and retail and are looking to grow our capacity through further recruitment.

The role will report directly to the Energy & Sustainability Lead in London. It will involve developing sustainability & wellbeing strategies for a diverse portfolio and will require the independent management of your own projects, close liaison with clients, expand the wellbeing opportunities of the business and, most importantly, a personal interest in wellbeing and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health and Wellbeing
    • Lead projects looking to pursue WELL Building Standard certification, including WELL Core and Health-Safety ratings including workshop facilitation, the development of spreadsheet trackers and working with Cost Consultants to develop appropriate WELL strategies
    • Provide support to junior members of staff working on WELL / FitWEL projects
    • Responsible for generating more WELL Provide bid information / support in the preparation of fees and case studies.
    • Keep up to date with the latest industry publications regarding health and wellness for workplaces, retail, hospitals, residential, etc.
    • Lead Health and Wellbeing (H&WB) Working Group
  • LEED:
    • Lead projects looking to pursue LEED certification, including workshop facilitation, the development of spreadsheet trackers and working with Cost Consultants to develop appropriate LEED strategies
    • Provide support to junior members of staff working on LEED projects
    • Provide bid information / support in the preparation of fees and case studies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Be a WELL AP (essential) and FitWEL Ambassador (preferable) Be a LEED AP (BD+C / ID+C preferable) A Strong background in Sustainability and health and wellbeing issues in both new and existing buildings. An understanding of BREEAM and other environmental assessment methodologies (BREEAM AP status would be an advantage) Motivation to identify opportunities to win business and referrals from existing and new clients. Be able to effectively communicate to clients both inside and outside the business. Understand and deal with the commercial aspects of contracts and client interaction, ensuring work undertaken matches the scope and fee and when appropriate, claiming additional fees. Have strong experience as a sustainability or energy consultant or in a related role. Degree in engineering/environmental or sustainability related subject Membership of a related professional institution and on the way or already “chartered” either engineer, scientist or environmentalist.
