Senior Financial Accountant
Job Description
- To provide financial and accounting expertise and guidance to management and other functions within the business.
- Support to business decision making
- Safeguarding of company assets
- Ensuring the integrity of the financial accounts
- Ensuring strong internal control practices
- Compliance with internal and external directives/regulations
- Reporting to VP Financial Accounting
Key Responsibility Areas
- Managing the preparation of Statutory accounts for a number of Companies to strict timetables.
- Manage and develop the financial accounting team.
- Identify and present opportunities for harmonising activities in systems, Internal controls.
- Ensuring the quality of submission of quarterly reporting packs to group to strict timetables
- Support and develop internal and external audit relationship
- Manage company accounting practices and internal control environment through active engagement and support to the creation/implementation of company policies.
- Advise and provide guidance to management and team members regarding financial accounting requirements
- Review of reconciliations ensuring the integrity of the underlying financial data
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
- Professional qualified accountant
- Strong technical accounting skills IFRS, overall technical aspects of the role are broad
- Communicate with confidence and credibility at all levels
- Challenging assumptions and decision making as appropriate
- Drive improvements in financial systems and process
- Must be willing to travel in a multi- site environment
