Job Description

You will also work in close collaboration with the US GIS team to ensure best practices and a consistent approach.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a geographical library of public and purchase datasets needed to support daily work
  • Utilise GIS for the identification of new solar sites, creation of constraints information to support solar facility design, prepare map exhibits and conduct risk assessments
  • Assisting non-professional GIS users across EMEA and APAC regions
  • Management of project level data

Knowledge / Experience

  • Possess GIS fundamental knowledge including projections, cartographic design, GIS data management and of understanding land characteristics.
  • Demonstrates a keen understanding of spatial data, including knowledge of regional GIS datasets (public and private)
  • Experience working with multiple spatial files formats including CAD, KMZs, Shapefiles, Rasters and Geodatabases
  • Experience with data exchange between CAD/GIS environments
  • Experience working with survey grade data (i.e. ALTA survey, hydrology study results, etc)
  • Understands how to convert data from older sources such as maps and books into digital formats
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze geographical information to be presented in reports or presentation
  • Experience creating spatial data sets, preparing maps and maintain databases
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cartography and at least some understanding of graphic design
  • A minimum of 1 year prior experience using ArcGIS software in a professional environment
  • Spatial Analysis Extension and Raster Processing Experience
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications
  • Coordinate with technical teams to review and edit scope of works and ensure GIS deliverables meet analysis needs

Certifications in GIS and work experience will be considered in lieu of higher degree.
