Company Information:
Our client is seeking a Project Finance Accountant to join our Group Finance team based in the London head office. A successful candidate in this position will have demonstrable experience with financial reporting and internal control related responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and talented finance professional with an accounting and reporting background. This person will require effective interpersonal skills, be highly organised and have a willingness to get into the details whilst also seeing and understanding the big picture.
The candidate will have responsibility to drive cross-border projects and develop best practice across a large and complex Group structure. They will also project manage the implementation of Group-wide policies with the financial leadership team.
The role will be reporting into the Group Reporting Manager and will be a key part of the wider Head Office Finance Team. Candidates for this position will have worked for a big four public accounting firm at assistant manager level or above or have worked in a large public company as a manager.
This is a highly visible role with responsibility for delivering strategic projects to the highest quality.
Your Profile:
Critical:
- Recognised professional accounting qualification (e. ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA)
- Exposure to PE/VC backed businesses
- Strong and practical knowledge of IFRS standards
- Ability and confidence to communicate effectively with different business units at all levels when managing process improvement initiatives
- Strong relationship management skills to influence stakeholders and senior management
- Able to work in a fast-paced business with changing demands and be able to support the business in responding to these requests so that BAU activity is not impacted
- Analytical, critical thinker and problem solving attitude
- Taking ownership and actively looking for personal learning and development opportunities
- Highly organised, flexible and calm under pressure
- Able to produce concise and informative reporting under tight deadlines

Your team and your responsibilities:
- The Company is currently implementing an IFRS 16 software and redesigning the lease contracting process. The successful candidate will drive the completion of the IFRS 16 system implementation and support the Group Reporting Director on roll out of the solution to the wider business
- Engage with key stakeholders in the finalisation and implementation of the new IFRS 16 leasing process to the Group and provide ongoing support to the business after go live
- Manage the monthly and quarterly IFRS 16 reporting timetable to meet the deadlines
- Finance integration - Oversee policy and process alignment of newly acquired businesses
- Financial Reporting – Researching and preparing financial analysis and reports to support Group Reporting team in preparation of annual CFO statement
- Financial Reporting - Manage the regular update of Group accounting policies and procedures, including the issue of new policies as and when required. Preparation and announcement of training materials to the Group.
- Financial Reporting - Prepare, maintain, communicate and ensure compliance with company accounting policies
- Financial Reporting - Identify process efficiencies through continually reviewing finance processes and making recommendations for change, and once agreed ensuring that changes are implemented;
- Change management - Support the Group Reporting Team in ensuring projects are delivered on a timely manner, within budget, and the procedures generated are robust for operational staff and that the project has met its objective
- Project management - Support the Group Reporting team on leading long-term planning (i.e. IPO readiness), ad hoc projects and assist with preparation of financial analysis to support business critical projects
