Job Description

You will be responsible for understanding, quantifying, budgeting and managing the costs of the building work involved in a construction project. Depending on the stage of the project, you may be involved from the very start of a new construction project, working with architects to identify the resources and materials needed for it, or responsible for allocating work out to suppliers, partners and contractors, putting them in control of millions of pounds worth of expenditure. You may get to see the project through to the end, monitoring the progress of plans and keeping the Senior Quantity Surveyor fully updated and reporting on the results.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal applicant will have relevant qualification in the built environment and industry experience and knowledge of construction and development. Commercial and financial acumen with the ability to competently manage and track expenditures, financial goals and budgets is essential. Ability to work as part of a close-knit management team and manage numerous activities / projects simultaneously – both short and long term is crucial to the success of this role. You must be highly personable, with the ability to quickly build relationships; strong influencing and negotiation skills at all levels.
