As the Warehouse Manager, you will take overall responsibility for developing our customer-centric warehouse function and take it to the next level. You will drive operational excellence within the warehouse to ensure customers are receiving consistent service and our strong reputation in the marketplace is maintained and enhanced.

Specifically, your role will involve supervising the team, managing the safety aspects and maintenance of the warehouse, workshop and yard and developing standards whilst improving and managing processes across dispatch and stock control. You will develop our growing workforce in readiness for ambitious growth plans.

Your role will also entail:

  • Motivating, organizing, training and developing the workforce
  • Implementing and launching new initiatives to improve productivity
  • Promoting health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
  • Using space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently
  • Making sure quality and budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
  • Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the warehouse, workshop and yard
  • Improving OTIF levels and operational accuracy while maintaining in-stock levels
  • Ensuring Goods In processes are followed and developed
  • Keeping stock control systems up to date and making sure inventories are accurate
  • Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
At least four years’ progressive experience of leading and managing a warehouse team. Knowledge of Quality Management systems, ISO9001 and ISO14001. Six Sigma training, ideally to Green Belt standard. Previous management training. Time management and prioritization skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines within an ever-changing customer focused environment. The capability to take ownership and responsibility while adapting to individual and operational change. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively at all levels. An enthusiastic approach to work, strong self-control, a sense of structure and an organized attitude. A NEBOSH qualification. At a minimum, educated to National 5 or GCSE standard, ideally to Higher, HND or A-Level standard.
