Job Description
To provide an appropriate level of EC&I engineering services to allow successful and profitable execution of all work assigned.
- Support the Head of Department/Lead Engineer as appropriate to ensure an appropriate level of design is delivered.
- Ensure compliance with company and project quality assurance procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with current legislation (ATEX, BS 61508/61511, BS7671 etc).
- Deliver appropriate quality deliverables on time and within budget.
- Check documentation for PM PROjEN and client technical acceptability.
- Development and issue of project deliverables.
- Vendor/contractor liaison/technical management.
- Conduct site surveys and investigations.
- Supervision of assigned designers and checking/support of designers output.
- Ensure overall compliance with and continuous improvement of the companies Integrated Management System, Project Procedures and Engineering Standards.
- Contribute to project and design risk assessments, (Identification, reduction, mitigation and or transferral).
- Identify potential improvements in the ECI processes and templates to the section head and assist with their development when requested.
- Utilise the PM PROjEN business process maps for the EC&I and project deliverables.
- Contribute towards proposals to ensure our proposals meet the customer’s needs.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are accurately identified, delivered to schedule and within budget.
- Ensure that projects are delivered in line with the project execution plan and associated scope documents.
- Ensure the deliverables meet the customer needs (within the constraints of the project scope and specifications).
- Identify scope changes though our change control processes and upon agreement progress those changes in co-ordination with the project management team.
- Follow PM PROjEN file and document/drawing numbering guidelines.
- Ensure checking and approval of documents in line with PM PROjEN procedures.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with guidance from the project management team.
- Promote PM PROjEN’s capabilities in all areas of the business.
- Contribute to commissioning activities, including plans and documentation, ensuring safe completion and compliance with costumer business needs.
- Attendance at EC&I equipment and package plant factory and site acceptance testing.
- Take responsibility for your own (and that of others working with you) for health, safety and welfare through careful planning, design, checking and appropriate levels of supervision.
- Ensure that a Site Protocol form (risk assessment) is completed prior to commencing work on site and that a specific risk assessment has been completed for the planned work activities for yourself and others for which you are responsible.
- Co-operate with management on health and safety matters and ensure safeguards are maintained and respected by all.
- Ensure that any accidents/incidents are immediately reported.
- Ensure compliance with European Directives, SHE guidance and CDM obligations in the office and on site.
- Maintain your Health & Safety and legislative directives knowledge related to EC&I.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferably, a HND / HNC or equivalent in related subject (e.g. Engineering, Construction or Science). You must have a proven level of experience in delivering complex and multi-disciplined design in one or more of Advanced Manufacturing & Technology, Chemical, Petrochemical Energy & Environment and Gas Sectors. Knowledge and experience in delivering and handling design. EPCM experience is also highly desirable. Excellent organisational skills with an ability to produce quality work and achieve project deadlines within budget. You must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business services. A forward planner, who identifies and resolves project challenges effectively. You must be able to critically assesses own performance and performance of others.
