Job Description
What are my Key Responsibilities?
- As the Microbiology Technician, you will work closely with the Fermentation Specialist and Analytical Technician to support the Research & Innovation Director with the delivery of the Research & Innovation
- Your main focus will be carrying out defined experimental protocols and laboratory
analysis which will contribute to larger research projects. You will be collating data
and adding data to the Company database and you will be responsible for laboratory consumable stock control and maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the laboratory
What are my Key Duties?
- You will always follow safe working practices and the strict requirements of the Integrated Management System, to ensure compliance with H&S environmental and other relevant legislation
- You will carry out agreed experimental protocols which will assist the
Innovation and Development team in their aim of optimising Quality, Yield,
Volume and Cost of the ABE fermentation process at an operational level
- You will be a key contributor to ensuring the delivery or exceedance of the
Research & Innovation team KPI’s and you will report relevant results as
defined by the Research & Innovation Director. You will attend and be an
active participant in KPI reviews
- Working within a high performing team culture, and aligning with the
Company Vision and Research & Innovation objectives, you will contribute
appropriately to team meetings and highlight and support the implantation of continuous improvement projects
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will have a relevant Microbiology related qualification or can demonstrate appropriate relevant experience in a Microbiological Laboratory Environment If you have participated in a modern apprenticeship scheme this would be an advantage. You will have a knowledge of the ABE process, which will grow over time You can demonstrate knowledge and experience and experience of Good Laboratory Practice and COSHH
