Job Description

Key responsibilities

• Write the test strategy for the project testing delivery using appropriate manual and automation techniques and methods
• Provide rudimentary domain knowledge to support delivery in specialised areas of testing.
• Produce Test Plans for testing requirements
• Write, implement and execute automated tests using a framework of industry tools
• Provide support and mentoring to more junior staff re test automation
• Determine how to test complex requirements, ensuring quality delivery.
• Lead the development of detailed Test Cases and Test Scripts, including expected results, in line with the Test Strategy.
• Create and manage appropriate test data for proving execution of test requirements.
• Document and verify test results.
• Manage, raise and record details of incidents encountered during testing.
• Use other testing tools, e.g. test/defect management, as required.

Essential skills: Test Management Team Responsibilities Test Techniques Test Automation frameworks, tools and techniques Agile and Scrum Techniques Testing Software Quality Characteristics Reviews Defect Management Test Reporting Test Tools Desirable skills: Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering testing projects Demonstrable experience in using common business technology (for example, Office 365 suite) Demonstrable experience of writing and executing test cases using test automation frameworks Demonstrable knowledge and experience using two or more test tools, techniques or methods: SQL (for example; production of complex scripts to query a relational database) C#, Java and/or JavaScript (for example; construction of driver scripts for automation tools) Cucumber or other automation framework (for the implementation and creation of automation framework for clients and/or projects)
