Job Description

Our Highways & Civil Engineers can find themselves working in partnership with our experts in buildings, bridges, tunnels, geotechnics, environmental consulting and transport planning. Energy, collaboration, and effective communication is fundamental to bring these elements together as our Highways and Civil Engineering teams are often at the core of these disciplines acting as integrators or facilitators. Our teams also work closely with many external bodies to deliver the project, from clients and architects to statutory approval organisations.

Our core skills in the Civil Engineering teams typically include masterplan development, sustainable drainage designs, flood risk management, pavement designs, earthworks assessments, access road design and utilities coordination.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ideally a Master’s in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) at 2.1 or above, although a BEng at 2.1 or above will also be considered • Studying, or have studied, an ICE accredited course • Possess a strong working knowledge of MS Office and demonstrate an ability to learn new software within a working environment that utilises 3D design and digital automation • Ability and experience in using AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation would be desirable • Some experience with coding languages would be advantageous • Enthusiasm for a career in Civil Engineering, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work • Have an analytical thought process • Seek to improve existing ways of working, by finding efficiencies in processes • The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive • Able to start September 2021
