Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join the Development, Construction and Asset Management Business (“DCA”) of the Green Investment Group as an Executive to help support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. You will work in the DCA Team with responsibility for our solar and other onshore renewable development investments. You will report to the Reporting and Control Manager of the DCA.

You will work closely with Green Investment Group’s development partners on the development of renewable energy projects and will support the Reporting and Control Manager in ensuring Green Investment Group’s standards of financial control and financial reporting are incorporated into all projects.

You will be responsible for the month end ledger close processes including journal entry and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are appropriately supported. You will deliver timely quality management information and analysis of the development business for senior stakeholders and those monitoring projects. In addition, you will prepare financial reports for Green Investment Group’s solar and onshore renewable investments which are in accordance with Macquarie Group’s governance and risk management standards and ensure appropriate accounting policies are applied for project and group reporting.

This role will also see you prepare the annual statutory accounts for the legal entities and will foster effective working relationships with internal and external parties including Financial Management Group, Tax, external auditors, outsource service providers and advisors in doing so.

Foreign language skills would also be desirable.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To perform at the required level in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA) with at least 2-4 years post qualifying experience in a financial accounting and reporting environment. You will have knowledge of IFRS as well as month-end reporting and reconciliations experience. Personally, you will be able to work collaboratively as part of a small team and have some demonstrable process improvement experience.
