Job Description

The post holder will be part of the team responsible for the cost and contract administration duties for capital projects for various essential public services.The role includes leading preparation of cost estimates, preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation, contract negotiation and administration of construction contracts. .The Role: · Taking responsibility for commercial aspects of projects from inception to implementation.· Liaising with multi-disciplinary design teams in delivery of major capital projects in accordance with the plan of work, including internal staff and external consultants.· Support and advise junior members of staff on matters of quantity surveying and processes.· Administer various forms of construction contracts.· Producing estimates, bills of quantity, cost reports, valuations and final accounts.Successful candidates for the Quantity Surveyor role will need: · Qualified Quantity Surveyor with relevant degree.· Experience of working with large construction projects ideally new builds or refurbishments· In depth understanding of current building regulations.· Understanding of conditions of contract for building contracts and contract procurement.· Member of chartered organisation.The successful candidate will get: · The chance to become an integral part of a large scale and reputable public body in the Scottish central belt.· A competitive salary, based fairly on individual experience.· Flexibility daily work location and a generous holiday allowance in comparison to similar roles in the private sector.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
