A global hedge fund based in London are in need of a financial and management accountant to deliver year-end closes to the management and fund company, provide regulatory reporting and prepare management information for the business.

A fantastic opportunity has become available with a global hedge fund based in London. They are looking for a financial and management accountant to deliver year-end closes to the management and fund company, provide regulatory reporting and prepare management information for the business.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting all aspects of the Financial Control team.
• Responsibility for delivering year end close process for both the fund and management company entities, ensuring process is accurate and efficient.
• Responsibility for financial regulatory reporting
• Preparing ad-hoc management information for business managers as required

Management Company

• Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of general ledger entries at the year-end for balance sheet and P&L.
• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for Management Company in accordance with FRS 102 (New UK GAAP) and liaise with auditors and directors to get it finalised.
• Ownership of monthly management accounts production.
• To maintain a focus on any opportunities to reduce expenditure, to enhance revenues and to increase efficiency.
• To prepare regulatory reporting for FCA and JFSC for various entities within the management company.
• To prepare ad hoc financial analysis for the business as and when required.
• Assist accounts payable team to book journals in the accounting system
• Undertaking financial analysis and research to support new business initiatives and resource allocation decisions

Fund

• Thorough review of year-end trial balance, adjustment entries and financial statements prepared by the administrator in accordance with US GAAP.
• Assist auditors to complete the audit of the fund in timely and efficient manner in accordance with US GAAP and thereby meeting all regulatory deadlines.
• Liaise with the administrator to ensure timely responses to auditor’s queries and delivery of financial statements.
• Liaise with senior management, legal teams & directors for review of the financial statements.
• Prepare & submit regulatory reporting

Experience:

• A qualified accountant with appropriate fund accounting, management accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Candidate should have knowledge of Hedge Funds either as an auditor or through working with a Fund Manager directly.
• Information Technology skills and the ability to accurately maintain and manipulate data are important.
• Knowledge of FRS 102/ IFRS will be helpful but not essential
