Job Description

The role holder is responsible for all RM & V&V related activities including documenting, analysing, tracing, prioritising and agreeing on requirements / V&V within an integrated team of subject matter experts from different disciplines while reporting to the Management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for the Requirements Management Plan and the V&V Plan and update accordingly.

• Define the requirements management approach with subcontractors and consultants, and their associated responsibilities. Monitor their performance against agreed outputs.

• Record requirements and V&V in IBM DOORS modules. Provide compliance statements and supporting evidence. Set-up / Modify DOORS structure as may be required to capture all project requirements and V&V evidence (including technical contract requirements, safety requirements, HF requirements and those from EMC/E&B/Stray Current).

• Responsible for Verification & Validation activities through the lifecycle stages. Provide requirements and V&V reporting.

• Manage departures from the client requirements.

• Manage the Standards Register and its implementation within DOORS.

• Work alongside the Interface Manager, Safety Manager, HF Manager, EMC/E&B/SC Manager and the ‘Systems’ Contractor’s own Requirements Manager to ensure a robust requirements set and appropriate traceability.

• Working alongside internal / external stakeholders to ensure suitable routes to compliance and acceptance.

• Leading by example as a role model for company values and professional standards.

• Driving the delivery of business and corporate plans for areas of own responsibility.

• Managing delegated resources (e.g. budgets, equipment and contracts) as appropriate, to ensure value for money.

• Being fully aware of and actively complying with company policies and procedures relevant to own responsibilities and to corporate policies and procedures including equality, sustainability and the environment, health and safety and data protection.

• Driving continuous improvement within own areas of responsibility

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Science based subject

• 2 years experience in a similar role

OR

• 5 years experience in a similar role

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• REQUIREMENTS MANAGEMENT: 5 years (Preferred)• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to report at all levels; • Extensive DOORS knowledge and understanding; • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage own time; • Strong ability to liaise with key stakeholders; • Computer literate and familiar with MS office, project, (or similar scheduling package) • Comfortable dealing with competing parties; • Pragmatic approach to Requirements and V&V Engineering; • Experience of working across the full engineering lifecycle • Logical thinker and organised. • Previous experience on Civil construction works and Rail projects.
