Job Description

We have a busy and ambitious commercial function and are looking for a Commercial Manager to assist the Senior Commercial Manager in providing an independent, expert resource to oversee the commercial aspects of operational contracts across the Trust, ensuring value for money, and to protect the Trust and individuals within it from adverse risk. It also provides commercial management to support the delivery of all NEC3 (ECC, ECSC, TSC, TSSC, PSC) as well as other forms of contracts.

About the role:

 

As our Commercial Manager you will be a self motivated individual engaged in providing a high standard of Commercial expertise and support to deliver best commercial value from all operational contracts. You will also assist the Procurement team with Contract and Commercial support in the tendering process, and assist in the carrying out commercial assessment of tenders and recommendations.

 

In this role you will support both the Commercial Team and Delivery Team ensuring that the Trusts drives best value from its suppliers and manages risk in accordance with the Contract.

  • To ensure that the Trusts Governance and Commercial Management roles are met to a high standard.
  • Initiates and implements post contract supply development with internal and external partners
  • To assist as and when required to Provide Contract and Commercial support to the Procurement Team and Contract Managers/Service Managers in undertaking the re-tendering of existing Contracts.
  • Carry out Audits In accordance with the Audit Programme, conduct audits and publish results to the Senior Commercial Manager
  • Support the Service Manager with the KPI assessments on a monthly/annual basis on relevant KPI’s within all Contracts and report to the Senior Commercial Manager, Procurement Manager & Operations manager
  • Agreement of new Star Rates on Operational Contracts. Manage a Star Rate database with the construction Contractor, responsibility for the management of all rates for the Operational Contract Price Lists
  • Assist when required with the administration of annual inflation and rebates for all Contracts.
  • Use Commercial & Contractual experience to ensure the Trust is not exposed to unnecessary Contractual risk
  • Displaying the Trust values and behaviours at all times
  • Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life and promoting inclusion by challenging behaviour, practices, actions, or decisions that are counter to the objectives of the Trust’s policies and values

You will be a highly organised individual who manages effectively to deliever to agreed deadlines. Collaboration and teamwork is how you do business. In this role you will also have day to day administration to manage, so it is important that you have the ability to assist in the administration of all Contract and KPI rebates for the Operational Contracts & assist to administer all annual price inflation in accordance with the relevant Contracts for all Operational Contracts, but that you care about the necessity for accuracy of necessary admin.

NEC3 Contract Experience Proven Track Record / Training analytical & problem solving skills Proven track record proven track record of successful contract negotiation highly organised and strong administration - paying attention to detail matters to you excellent communication skills - you are an effective coach and have experience training and sharing best practice developing managers and team memebers to an hightened understanding Educated to degree level B.Sc. or B.A. Professional Qualification RICS, CICES Knowledge of other Contract Options ICE, JCT People management / leadership Proven track record
