Looking to join a dynamic team of Accounting professionals and obtain valuable global statutory accounting compliance experience? The International Statutory Reporting team works closely with colleagues from international tax, treasury, Indirect Tax (VAT) and other departments to ensure company, Inc.’s EMEA subsidiaries remain compliant with VAT and financial reporting requirements. Our ideal candidate has a strong foundation of accounting and auditing standards, multi-currency and a strong accounting systems background.
This position is located in our office in Angel Square, London.
What you’ll do:
VAT compliance
o You will be responsible for a wide range of worldwide VAT compliance, directly or in liaison with external providers - depending on country
o You will be responsible for month-end close journal entries necessary within VAT asset and liability accounts and month-end close journals required for statutory accounting purposes
o You will be reconciling all VAT balance sheet accounts for designated Group companies
o You will assist with the preparation of information requested by external auditors in respect of accounting and VAT matters per company
o You will prepare Monthly/Quarterly VAT payments where appropriate
o You will play a key role in onboarding Group companies into the established global accounting processes, including documenting process flows, establishing and maintaining relationships with external advisors and identifying efficiency improvements
o You will also work closely with the International Tax team on any corporation tax issues relating to the companies within your scope.
o You will be liaising with external auditors, coordinating the collection of all data and explanations requested, preparing the audit file to support these. You will also be the primary contact for audit queries for the companies assigned to you.
o Determining, and implementing where appropriate, process improvements within the month end cycle to increase efficiency and reduce hours. Streamline processes and utilisation of resources in order to create maximum productivity.
o Ensuring all SOX controls are maintained
o Other complex ad-hoc projects as needed
Who you are:
o University degree, ACA, ACCA or equivalent required
o Public accounting experience is required
o VAT/GST accounting would be an advantage
o Ability to use accounting knowledge and previous experience to add value and assist in meeting the department's objectives while working in a fast-paced, team oriented, rapidly changing, and high-growth organization
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of clearly articulating complex processes to audiences with differing levels of understanding
o Aptitude to establish and maintain a cross-functional network outside of our immediate team to ensure strong customer focus
o Experience with Oracle or a similar ERP system
o Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, functions) as well as the ability to work with large amounts of data
