Job Description

The client is a multimillion turnover manufacturing organization working in the pharma / med tech space.

Starting salary will be £21,000 to £25,000 with long term career prospects.

Free onsite parking is offered.

Enabling the import and export of products/raw materials globally (into and from EU and Rest of World) through the required logistics, customs processes, compliance requirements created by the new Brexit import/export rules.
Key result areas:
1. On time deliveries
2. Zero late dispatches
3. Zero customer complaints

Need to be able to do (Key activities):

  • Requesting and supporting documentation with DEFRA, Environmental health, Veterinary Officer, Chamber of Commerce and other government bodies
  • Research and resolve logistics and customs related import and export queries
  • Completing export/import declarations and generating bespoke documents ensuring all documentation is in place to enable goods to be passed through UK border and the country of import
  • Provide export & import customs' knowledge, advice and support
  • Key point of contact with freight forwarders/ brokers when there is an import/export issue and ensure resolution to customers satisfaction
  • Measuring performance of freight forwarders/logistic partners and resolving issues
  • Provide administration support for the import & export teams within Operations team
  • Sales order processing support
  • Support SOP with requirements for shipments to customers
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with internal procedures to ensure compliance and regulatory compliance
  • Building strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders
  • Obtaining quotes for with freight forwarders/logistics providers
  • Keeping up to date and the company informed of all relevant legislation, import tariffs and trade agreements
  • Carry out the responsibilities stated in the Managing Director's Health & Safety Policy detailed in paragraphs 9 and 10 of his management Directive
  • Be conversant with and adopt the procedures stated in the Environmental Management System (EMS) Manual and it's supporting documents

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of import and export customs procedures and preparing export documentation. Brexit and implications on the UK and EU countries. Understanding of the rules of origin, goods of preferential/non-preferential origin, trade agreements. Incoterms. Airway Bills and Bills of Lading. Import/Export experience. Manufacturing experience. Customer service skills. Sales order processing experience.
