Job Description
This role is home-based and flexible in where it can be in the UK but will require travel both nationally and internationally with regular meetings in London.

The role's duties & responsibilities:
- Managing and co-ordinating complex risks, completing loss prevention surveys and handling technical referrals from clients, brokers and colleagues
- Developing, managing and completing survey programmes and production of bespoke quality market reports and risk improvements
- Providing our Construction Underwriters in Global Corporate & Specialty (GCS) and SME with high quality loss avoidance/mitigation measures
- Provision of risk desktop reviews to support the growth of the Construction book of business
- Always innovating to provide the latest best practice loss prevention solutions and services
- Developing key internal stakeholder and an external network of relationships to ensure people understand the GCS risk management business and ensure the best service is delivered
- Supporting initiatives for service and operational improvements by acting on feedback from customers - sharing ideas with peers and engaging team to fully work through options
- Ability to analyse, collate and interpret underwriting information to ensure pro-active risk management decisions are made
- Ensuring the governance framework is adhered to ensure Risk compliance

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Civil Engineer with detailed knowledge of current risk management and loss prevention practices for Construction Risks (CAR) Sound knowledge of construction methods and international construction standards for complex construction risks across a wide range of sectors including residential, transport, tunnelling, bridges, roads, ports Site survey experience of a range of construction insurance risks including residential and commercial high-rise projects, infrastructure and heavy civil projects. Highly developed presentation and customer engagement skills, with experience at influencing and negotiating Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering, Geology, Mining Engineering Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with relevant industry specific qualifications such as MICE, AIRM, ACII, etc. Active member of a construction or insurance industry such as CIREG, ICE, BTS, IOM3, etc. Additional spoken and written languages an advantage
