Job Description

Duties

• Lead a team of engineers and technicians working on a variety of highways projects while reporting directly to the Project Manager
• Check and approve documentation prepared by other team members which involve short timescales and delivery
• Prepare feasibility studies, scheme reports, scheme design for highways, drainage, flooding and a variety of other projects
• Resolve technical issues as they occur for a range of areas across the project while monitoring progress.
• Attend progress meetings, public exhibitions, and public inquiries

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A Civil Engineering Degree • MICE and IEng/CEng status or equivalent • Demonstrated experience in major highway schemes and most of its aspects • Polished and with great interpersonal and communication skills • Solid knowledge of DMRB standards • Able to maintain a challenging workload with short notice changes • Articulate, able to converse well with clients • Good understanding of financial management and project controls • Capable of producing well-presented and accurate reports • Proficient with MX/3D Cad as well as drainage design capabilities (WINDES or equivalent) • Driving License • Background in construction supervision • Sound knowledge of different contract types and procurement options
