Job Description
- Preparation and review of Group monthly management report including the financial performance of the head office and all overseas operating businesses (Income Statement, capex and business development spend)
- Assist with the preparation of Group financial records and management reporting. This includes group consolidation process, notes to the consolidated statutory financial statements.
- Provide corporate and tax structuring advice in relation to new business development opportunities, including support to the Senior Business Finance Manager
- Prepare cost centre analysis, corporate spending and assist the Senior Business Finance Manager in identifying opportunities to improve processes and cost management.
- Review and analyse financial models for existing operating businesses with the latest operational expectations and actual financial results, which will be used to evaluate financial close expectations and to satisfy shareholder reporting requirements
- Completion of the Income Statement, business development spend and capex elements of the operating business and capital expenditure sections of the Monthly Report, including analysis of business performance against budget.
- Develop and prepare the annual budgeting and review overseas entities budgets in particular for Income Statement, capex and business development spend.
- Reporting for the group including preparing financial statements for Group parent companies and a number of intermediate holding companies and monthly procedures and controls work
- Assist the Financial Controller with technical accounting matters including fair value acquisition accounting for new businesses in the group, tax matters and consolidation in compliance with IFRS
We are partnering with a fast growth energy business based in London who have recently completed another transaction to add to their portfolio and continue to look forwards at more opportunities to grow.
They require an interim Business Accountant to support the Senior Business Finance Manager to provide corporate and tax structuring advice to both Business Development projects and Operational businesses. You will be partnering with business development and corporate modelling teams, group finance and tax advisors.
- Qualified accountant status (ACCA/ACMA/ACA)
- Appropriate experience in an accounting / consolidating / reporting role
- Experienced in financial and management accounting, current accounting practices and methods
- Experience of working in a project- or asset-heavy business, such as energy, oil and gas, construction, infrastructure sectors
- Previous experience of working in a global organization would be useful
- Experience of advising on tax computations across multiple jurisdiction, working with the business teams and tax advisors
