Job Description

The team delivers services to a primarily public sector client base, working in healthcare, higher education, transport, energy, commercial and retail areas. All traditional building surveying services are offered including specification and design; contract administration; acquisition and condition surveys; planned maintenance; party walls; dilapidations; and project management.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Heading up a team of four, with a view to growing further
  • Managing financial responsibility for fees and local commissions
  • Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments
  • Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects and liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships in true partnership

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
BSc in building surveying or equivalent Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors A minimum of four years’ technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy Business development and commission generation experience Experience in the preparation of proposals and fee bids Well-developed skills in the areas of surveys (all types), refurbishment, repairs and maintenance Strong technical skills Excellent communication skills, both oral and written IT skills (AutoCAD, NBS, MS Project Outlook, Word, Excel and other bespoke software) Good time management and prioritisation skills, delivering quality work within immovable deadlines A flexible individual, capable of working as part of a co-located team, able to adapt to different work practices with an appreciation of the wider implications of our client’s projects Ability to focus and work with minimal supervision Ability to think clearly and make reasoned decisions, explaining the logic employed A strong team player but demonstrate leadership attributes
