Job Description

The Technician’s role is to assist the M&E design team with the delivery of mechanical and electrical design solutions in the form of Revit models and AutoCAD drawings, working to the latest BIM standards/UK BIM Framework. You will need to ensure the provision and successful delivery of building services projects across a range of sectors including defence, commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education and leisure within both public and private domains.

You will be joining a growing M&E design team to support in the preparation of clear and accurate drawings/models and associated deliverables. This will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Amending drawings/models to engineers’ mark-ups
  • Producing schematics, general arrangements/layouts, sections and typical details
  • Liaising with the BIM Manager to ensure that industry, company, and project specific standards are being maintained
  • Storing of files in accordance with the company’s QA procedures
  • Model exports including ifc, nwc, dwfx, dwg and pdf exports
  • Use of Revit BIM interoperability tools to add classification data to models
  • Model QA using built-in interference checking tools and other software solutions

About You

Have the skill set and passion for engineering, with the ability to manage your own workflow. You will be required to attain security clearance to MOD SC level and able to work on both MOD and scientific sector projects, also requiring security clearance.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services and an understanding of construction. Experience in the production of MEP BIM models, with a sound understanding of delivering models in accordance with the BEP and all relevant industry standards. High level of knowledge and experience of using Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD software. Prior knowledge of MagiCAD and/or Solibri software would be advantageous. Experience of working as part of a large M&E design team to complete and deliver projects to the highest standard and in accordance with the programme deadlines. Strong communication skills, collaborating with the design team to enhance the quality of the project delivery. Third level qualifications (NVQ, BTEC, City and Guilds) in technical design/construction/M&E/other suitable subject would be advantageous.
