Job Description

The aim of the CARE Project is to provide practical and compassionate help to those in our community who are in need as a result of reduced, low or limited income and/or during a time of hardship.The Food Hub Admin Volunteer’s role is to use our online system to process requests for food parcels and ring the Service Users to confirm the delivery of their food parcel.

Volunteer Profile: The role requires confidentiality, a calm, reassuring manner and compassion. The volunteer will be aware that all telephone calls are recorded in order to safeguard the volunteers and the service user. Any safeguarding concerns that the volunteer has at any time during the call must be reported to the safeguarding officer.

Tasks:

To log into our online system and process the tickets.

To call our call handlers to be transferred to a Service User.

To talk to the Service User about the delivery of their food parcel, including confirming important information such as allergies and a time and day for the delivery of the food parcel.

To ensure that the tickets are processed correctly.

Training: The volunteer will be given training on the CARE Projects online system so that they can process the tickets without fault. There will be training on the use of the online system and guidance on the information to be given to the service user.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The volunteer will be willing to work from home and to use their own smartphone and computer/laptop to confirm the delivery of Service User’s food parcels.
