Job Description

We are seeking a suitably qualified Principal Landscape Architect to join our national team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience of landscape planning and assessment. Because we are focusing on the skills and talent, location is flexible. As part of the UK Environment business, the successful candidate will join a diverse, collaborative team and work alongside colleagues across the UK and abroad.

  • Leading the preparation of a Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment (TVIA) for the planning application of a new mixed-use development
  • Attending a virtual ‘mitigation’ workshop with our biodiversity colleague for creation of new habitats as part of a new nationally significant road infrastructure project
  • Working with one of our Technical Director to prepare the statement of common grounds for a new energy infrastructure.
  • Completing the webtag worksheet for smart motorway project
  • Reviewing the landscape section of the scoping report for a new rail station.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Degree level qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent; Chartered with the Landscape Institute or equivalent Significant experience of landscape and visual impact assessment for infrastructure or development projects Experience in the preparation of Statement of common Desirable experience – acted as an Expert Witness Project management experience including preparation of bids, management of project finance and client relationship; Managing your own workload and that of your allocated project team; Track record of successful project delivery; both technically and commercially; and Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills;
