Job Description

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller of this rapidly growing manufacturing organization. You are likely be a Part Qualified Accountant will work alongside the Accounts Assistant to support the Financial Controller in compiling accurate data to produce necessary financial information and analysis to enable effective business planning and performance monitoring.

Working closely with all internal departments, information sharing and ensuring accuracy of data within the company’s financial management systems, and particularly within SAGE. You are likely to be part qualified

Main Duties and Responsibilities Assistant Accountant

· Inputting production packs, dispatch and raising sales invoices onto SAGE.

· Inputting sales and purchase orders onto SAGE.

· Bank reconciliations and all payments.

· Compile the Monthly EC Sales and VAT return.

· Upon receipt of premix delivery, booking it onto Sage systems to ensure accuracy and assist in planning.

· Ensure stock accuracy on internal systems for stock transfers, ensuring the correct sign off procedure is followed.

· Responsible for the end of year Tax pack and working with the Accounts Assistant to collaborate the information and data required.

· Efficiently manage the debtor’s ledger to ensure a ‘clean’ debtors ledger with minimal negative debt write off.

· Update and analyze the accuracy of the fixed asset register with additional assets and monthly depreciation.

· Creation of BOMs on Sage and checking the accuracy existing BOMs periodically.

· Responsible for developing new product codes, new customers and suppliers within Sage and clearly marking inactive ones.

· Raise all supplier payments in preparation for them to be reviewed by the Financial Controller for authorization.

· Assist with payroll by making payments to HMRC for PAYE/NIC and for pension contributions.

· Processing VAT returns.

· Any other ad hoc duties as required to support the business needs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Part Qualified Accountant. · CIMA, ACCA Qualified or working towards obtaining qualification / part qualified · Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role, within the manufacturing industry. ·· Fully proficient user of all Microsoft packages, including but not limited to; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. · Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement to drive change management within the business. · Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels both verbal and written. · Experience of partaking in external financial audits. · Proven analytical skills, with the ability to work with accuracy and precision at all times. Identifying problematic areas, with the ability to offer effective resolutions. · Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects/ tasks at one time. · Professional appearance, attitude and outlook. · An effective problem solver with the ability to offer solutions where possible.
