Market Job Description
- To ensure regulatory reporting activities reflect latest changes in regulations.
- To manage the interpretations and assumptions aspects of applicable regulations, ensuring adequate coverage at the Interpretations Committee, maintaining all the required documentation to evidence compliance with decisions emanated from the committee, managing stakeholder communications and sign-off.
- Assisting in modelling and quantifying impact of changes of computational nature, including new product activity and changes in reporting approach and methodology.
- Interacting with Wells EMEA policy group to assess the impact of latest pronunciations from the multiple regulatory authorities relevant to the reporting activities of EMEA London.
- Secondary responsibilities on controls, documentations and systems implementations activities as required supporting other team members.
Market Skills and Certifications
- Strong academic background, university degree, qualified accountant.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a team structure, appropriate communicative skills for interactions with senior management.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good financial products knowledge, exposure to regulatory reporting covering capital and liquidity.
- Extensive regulatory knowledge of banking regulations, European and UK legislation. Ability to discuss and challenge complex regulatory issues. Good knowledge of the regulatory environment and imminent changes in the European regulatory framework.
- Proactive, excellent capability to engage and interact effectively with key stakeholders.
- Ideally previous exposure to regulatory reporting systems eg. FRS/ STB, data flows, systems infrastructure, with the ability to understand detailed complex calculations.
- Preferably previous regulatory exposure in an advisory role in an audit firm or similar role in a dedicated policy team within a large banking organization.
