Job Description

Your new role

  • Work as part of a customer focused team liaising with the Area Manager and Customer Services Supervisor to support the customer's commercial needs
  • To meet all customer requirements with regards to their orders and shipments and ensure internal compliance to standard requirements
  • Communicating with the customer with regards to orders and requirements in an effort to support the customer and establish positive relationships
  • To promote sales and services that the company offers in accordance with company standards in an effort to increase sales and further enhance customer relationships
  • Progress customer accounts in conjunction with the Credit Controller to ensure queries are speedily resolved and payments made on time.
  • To assist in gaining accurate forecasts from customers regarding their future usage and communicating with planning to ensure these requirements are met and accurate supply of product is maintained.
  • Gather information from Customers & Area Managers to ensure the most relevant products are available to the customer and to monitor these products as per the customer's requirements to ensure they are relevant at all times and to minimise the risk of unwanted or redundant stock.
  • Use commercial strategies such as forecasts and monitor consignment stocks to provide improved information to planning in order to minimise stocks and waste.
  • Respond to Customer requests for Technical Support to ensure Customer satisfaction and ensure visits are arranged as necessary.
  • Process and follow through all customer orders from the point of order to the despatch of material to the customer across various departments, using the business ERP system.
  • Ensuring accurate information to progress the order through the system to deliver right, first time, on time.
  • Monitor progress and follow up on sample shipments to ensure the Customer receives accurate, timely information and sales are increased.
  • Work with freight forwarders to organise shipments to customers. Produce transport documents such as Dangerous Goods Notes and provide them to the forwarders in a timely manner that allows freight due dates to be met and on time delivery to the customer can be achieved.
  • Communicate with freight forwarders in a proactive manner to ensure deliveries to customers are as planned and any changes to schedule or plan can be passed on to the customer.
  • A proactive approach to cost with freight forwarders to ensure the price efficiency and profits maximised.
  • An awareness of the requirements regarding Incoterms and the areas of responsibility that are incurred in their use.
  • Manage change of specifications and substrates, by progressing LSR's and pre-batch materials using information gained from Area and Marketing Managers to ensure formulations are correct, sales potentials maximised and waste minimised.
  • Ensure Quality Control is kept informed.
