Formulation of the company's credit policy to mitigate unnecessary risk
Be the point of escalation for outstanding debt, working closely with external customers
Analyse Debtor Days - improve the average number of days taken to collect for weekly / monthly / partner etc. Accounts
Advise on methods to increase debtor days/cash collections (settlement discount, rebate, more automated reminders, reduced credit limits, factoring invoices, etc.)
Analyse repeat late payers and advise sales on pricing structures to fit accordingly
Analysis and advise on credit limits - Sales to still have some input & possibly final say but before credit limits are approved for new accounts run credit checks / acquire references and advise on limits from this data
Repeat analysis of current accounts and reduce / increase limits where necessary
Produce expected cash collection reports for cashflow based on data
Assisting the broader accounts team
Regularly reviewing the process and procedures to reduce debtor days
Manage credit control operatives and ensure KPI’s of department are met
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous experience of end-to-end credit control and accounts receivable processes Working knowledge of Credit law Staff management experience Strong written and verbal communication skills especially during difficult customer negotiations
