This role may suit someone who is AAT qualified, a finalist/newly qualified ACCA or ICAEW student, or someone with the equivalent experience and technical knowledge.
Your typical responsibilities might include:
Preparation of end of year accounts for limited companies and sole-traders
Corporation tax
VAT compliance (MTD, VAT Returns, EC Sales Lists)
Bookkeeping using a range of systems
Reconciliations
Management accounts, budgets, cashflows and other reports to meet client requirements
Some company secretarial duties
Payroll cover
P11d preparation
Accounting systems advice and support
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A minimum 3 years previous experience within a general (ie non-specialised) accountancy practice Confidence and experience in bookkeeping, VAT compliance and preparation of limited company accounts ready for partner review. Professional personable manner with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Be comfortable managing workloads and client deadlines and working relatively unsupervised. Good time management and experience keeping timesheets. Competent using MS Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook) Experience using a range of accounting systems (e.g Xero, Sage, Quickbooks) Advanced IT and Excel skills, the ability to assist both clients and staff with accounting-related IT matters and thinking of ways IT can improve efficiency and workflow. Previous experience of processing payroll. Experience using IRIS UK Driving Licence
