Finance Manager
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent - Remote
Job Description

This commercial position is a key role in finance but also the surrounding business. As an entrepreneurial Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up. You will also be involved in the wider business, supporting the Directors and helping the young business implements system and monitor KPI’s. You will also work with the tech team in analyzing our sales data and highlight ways for us to improve.

Key responsibilities of a finance manager

  • Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
  • Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and continually iterate/improve the monthly accounting process
  • Hold the forecasting model and provide added value analysis on performance vs plan
  • Ensure the timely creation of weekly flash reporting and alignment with business KPIs and the monthly reporting cycle
  • Continually identify risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout
  • Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts
  • Leading payroll, VAT and HMRC processes

We are a small but growing business and we can be flexible with hours as well as location, this job could fit around school hours. Ideally you will also have small company experience and understand the need for flexibility and the ability to work independently

You’ll also need to be a great problem solver and have the ability to help on a wide variety of tasks where organization, commercial acumen, discretion, communication skills and detail are needed

Experience:

  • Finance Manager : 3 years (Required)

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong technical accounting knowledge. Attention to detail and accuracy. Excel and modelling. Creating statutory accounts. Ability to interact with a broad team to achieve timely and accurate results. Experience of AP and AR. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Experience managing forecasting and tracking performance. Experience running annual audit. Support on other company administration including contracts, insurance, bank and shareholder reporting.
