Job Description

Ensure that customer, business unit and legal requirements for raw materials and supplier quality assurance are achieved through monitoring and assessing the quality of raw materials (including packaging) entering the business.

  • Technical Standards: Assess all incoming deliveries against a pre-determined raw material specification
  • Quality Management System: Maintain accurate records of all raw materials (including packaging) entering the site.
  • Quality Management System: Carry out microbiological, nutritional, quality and chemical sampling against a pre-determined schedule and report progress in a timely manner. Ad hoc sampling for site investigations may also be required
  • KPI’S: With guidance from Line Manager, coordinate day to day activities to deliver improvement of Technical KPIs
  • Audit: Participate in Technical audits including customer and Group Technical, ensuring all relevant raw material information is available and completed in the required timescale.
  • Audit: To audit compliance against Quality Management Systems, GMP and HACCP controls, raising all non-conformances against relevant standards with objective evidence, effectively communicated to enable the operational teams to take the appropriate and necessary corrective action & to follow up and monitor completion of actions.
  • Communication: Develop relationships with suppliers by ensuring all non-conformances are communicated in a timely manner. Will monitor whether responses have been received and review the action plans to ensure root cause has been considered.
  • Customer Management: Ensure that all customer complaints in relation to raw materials are investigated satisfactorily and corrective actions are agreed and documented. Investigation findings will be reported to the site Quality/Systems Manager.
  • KPI’s: Will log non-conformances associated with raw materials identified through intake checks, factory issues and/or customer complaints in order that supplier performance can be monitored and trended.
  • Health & Safety: To operate in a safe working manner and support the site/business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety and the environment

In return you will receive salary £21,000 to £23,000 depending on experience as well as great career prospects with a company that will support and develop you.
