Processing and managing the fortnightly and monthly payroll c.2000 employees
Processing SSP, SMP and all other applicable statutory payments
Ensuring the payroll process is correctly actioned and all employees are paid accurately and on time
Managing the end to end HMRC process ensuring monthly files balance and are submitted on time
Supporting the finance department to ensure all payroll reconciliations are correctly posted
Managing the system development, upgrades and enhancement
Implementing new legislation changes
Taking full ownership of the PAYE audits with HMRC
Managing the full year end process
Overseeing the company pension scheme from a payroll perspective and ensuring contributions are correctly processed and paid across in time
Creating and checking the annual audit reports for internal and external auditors and ensuring all regulations are met
Ensuring all payroll policies and procedures are kept up to date
Responding to payroll queries within the agreed SLA
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous Experience of large, complex payrolls. Member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) is desirable but not essential. Strong current knowledge and understanding of payroll practices and legislation. Ability to manage strict deadlines. High levels of attention to detail. Strong Excel/Microsoft Office skills.
