Job Description

This is a permanent position for an experienced Commercial Manager to join this well respected and established main contractor who work throughout the UK. The successful candidate will have a broad range of experience covering different sectors within the Construction sector. My client would be particularly interested in hearing from Commercial Managers who have worked on large portal framed structures. You will be responsible for the Commercial Management of either a large multi million pound project or a number of smaller projects.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Carrying out detailed analysis of proposed terms and conditions, proposing alternative terms where risks are deemed too high and overseeing the procurement process for all subcontracted works.
• Advising on standard forms of Subcontract for us on every scheme.
• Management of interim applications for payment and subsequent issue of client’s payment certificates and payment receipts in a timely manner.
• Management of the extension of time claims and interface with the planning department.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Previous experience working as a Commercial Manager for a main contractor in the Construction sector Minimum HNC /HND level qualification in a Construction related subject Experience of managing and developing Quantity Surveyors , Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Trainees
