Job Description

The Shared Services Manager role will include:

  • Leading a team of HR Advisors to provide expert HR advice to all colleagues across our retail business
  • Being the point of escalation to handle complex ER issues including tribunal cases
  • Providing a seamless advisory service that gives effective solutions to people issues ensuring a balance between individual and business needs
  • Driving excellent customer service across all processes, maintaining a strong compliance culture
  • Collaborating with the Regional People Business Partner Team to develop, review and update HR procedures and processes
  • Design and delivery of training material to up-skill and support managers across the business
  • Coaching, supporting and mentoring the HR Advisor Team
  • Taking ownership of ad hoc HR deliverables and projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong up to date knowledge of employment law and union experience Solid experience of working within a fast paced, high volume HR/ER environment Previous experience of handling complex ER case work including tribunal cases Experience of managing, leading and inspiring teams A strong customer focus and expert knowledge of HR policies Strong communication skills - highly effective written and verbal skills Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions The ability to evaluate current business needs and identify opportunities for change Experience of working with case management systems would be an advantage
