Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment/New Starters/Transfers/Leavers

  • Advertise vacancies, match and screen applicants, liaise with candidates to schedule interviews and complete all related correspondence.
  • Interview and assess candidates for sales assistants' positions.
  • On-boarding new starters, produce Offer Letters and Contracts, calculate holiday entitlement, request IT requirements, deliver induction sessions and co-ordinate eLearning.
  • Off-boarding leaver documentation.


Personnel/Pay Systems and Pensions

  • Oversee Company Personnel System and point of contact for user queries.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the personnel system, contact for Systems Account Manager and Maintenance Contracts, manage user profiles, password provision and data field codes.
  • Support Payroll Officer with new pay legislation, pension related issues and pay related projects.
  • Manage the Automatic Enrolment of Pension provision, act as a point of contact for Pension Scheme Providers, Pension Advisors, complete all correspondence to staff and manage any individual cases.


General HR and Training

  • Support HR Manger with Performance Management, Training requirements and Grievance and Disciplinary cases.
  • Take Notes at Grievance and Disciplinary Hearings.
  • Respond to general HR queries from Managers and provide guidance on Company HR Policies.
  • Analyse costs and secure training provision for various courses e.g. Fork Lift Truck Driving, PASMA, HGV etc.


Health and Safety

  • Compile Company Health and Safety Meeting Papers.
  • Take Notes at Health and Safety Meetings.
  • Point of contact for Managers, Insurance Company and Solicitors for all Incidents/Accidents Reports and Claims.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous HR generalist experience, ideally in a retail and/or multi-site organisation. Knowledge of pay and personnel systems. Automatic Enrolment of Pensions knowledge and experience. Ideally CIPD qualified, or working towards, but not essential.
