Job Description

Job Responsibilities
* the efficient and effective administration and delivery of assessment/exams across the MB ChB programme, including the delivery of written and practical assessments which can be held either face to face or online;
* processing results data presented to each Board of Examiners and release of results and feedback to students accurately and on time;
* assessment processes of the MB ChB, including co-ordination of the preparation and circulation of the Programme's written examination papers, liaison with relevant academic and administrative staff to ensure practical examination scripts and resources are prepared and circulated in good time, liaison with the four partner hospitals' staff regarding arrangements and equipment for on-site practical examinations (OSCEs);
* effective and efficient support to the team in the delivery of day to day assessment activities within the office. This includes preparation and review of templates for exam papers and exam data;
* processing marks including processing provisional and confirmed results and providing result grids/ lists for submission to Boards of Examiners;
* completion of students on the University student system Campus Solutions
* updating the Programme's internal systems (1Med and Medlea) and handbooks, with new or updated assessment related information;
* assist in the mitigating circumstances and appeals process;
* liaise with Assessment Administrators in the University and base hospitals as well as the School Disability Support Co-ordinator to ensure appropriate provision is made for the assessment of students with special educational needs or learning difficulties;
* maintenance of hard copy and electronic records of student examination results and preparation of transcripts ;
* prepare Boards of Examiners and the Year 5 Examinations Group, attend Assessment Committee;
* dealing with ad hoc requests for assessment data. Deal with individual students regarding the assessment process in general and their particular cases, as appropriate;
* answer general queries from students, academic and administrative staff regarding assessments ;
* co-ordinate meetings of the Programme's committees;
* supporting the general administration of the MB ChB as required.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Experience of working with assessment within a higher education or clinical environment; * experience of providing effective administrative support; * good communication skills (written and oral), demonstrating an ability to deal with a wide range of people; * good organisational skills, ability to plan and prioritise a variety of work activities in a busy environment and meet strict deadlines; * be a flexible team player with the ability to support colleagues; * ability to be creative and solve problems, with experience of contributing to the development and improvement of systems and procedures; * strong numeracy skills demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail; * excellent IT skills; * excellent data handling skills; * Experience of working with a large-scale, multi-site higher education programme; * Experience of working with Campus Solutions; * Experience of using SPSS. * To be a proactive team member and treat all colleagues and students with respect in accordance with the established
