Job Description

We work alongside the client’s internal HR team to provide specialist advice in accordance with their local policies and procedures.

The HR Advisory Service provides an Employee Relations service to Cumbria Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust whereby the HR Advisor will be required to be based at their HQ and attend the Trust’s other sites.

The HR Advisor acts as the first point of contact for the clients’ managers and are responsible for the provision of a dedicated Employee Relations HR advisory service that compliments the clients’ other HR initiatives. The HR Advisor will also give support and guidance at employee relations meetings and hearings, either to support the manager to undertake this meeting themselves or accompany a manager throughout formal meetings. The HR Advisor will undertake ER investigations on behalf of the client. Responsibilities include providing generalist operational HR advice and support, including all related administration, on a wide range of HR issues including current employment law, performance and absence management, health and safety, disciplinary and grievance issues etc, up to the issuing of ET proceedings. The post holder will also participate in the delivery of training and development seminars to the clients and participate in the co-ordination and implementation of new policies and procedures. The role will hold an employee relations case load, allocated by the HR Advisory Manager, which they will managed autonomously, in line with the client KPI’s. The role may also require UK travel.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
