Recruitment
• Assist HR Manager with all aspects of the recruitment process dependant on role and other projects within the team:
O Brief agencies on new assignments or write and place advert for job boards then shortlist CV’s depending on role
O Arrange first and second interviews for all roles
O Support managers with generating interview questions and attend first interviews for junior positions - taking notes and ensuring objectivity in the interview process, contribute opinions about the candidates’ responses
• Perform right to work, reference and medical checks for all new employees
• Prepare offer letters and employment contracts
• Manage the onboarding and induction process for all new starters and assessing the recruitment experience
• Recommend improvements to the recruitment process to HR Manager and implement any agreed actions
Employer Branding & Employee Engagement
• Increase our presence on Linked In, Glassdoor and Facebook careers pages, writing engaging content
• Work with the HR Manager and cross functionally on updating the careers site
• Assist HR Manager with rolling out employee surveys and ensuring good engagement from staff
• Put together the monthly employee newsletter by liaising with all departments as well as writing articles introducing new people and sharing information
• Forge links with local schools and colleges for Apprentices, work experience, possible internships and manage the programmes internally
• Assist HR Manager with arranging team building events
• Provide assistance with day-to-day benefits administration on private healthcare, critical illness, death in service, health cash plan and assisting in annual renewal.
• Contribute ideas for other HR initiatives designed to retain, develop and engage employees
• Act as confidante to employees
General HR Support
• Assist with the HR system (Workday) inputting HR data and acting as 1st line support, logging and resolving issues with 2nd line support. Prepare any reports as required by HR Manager
• Arrange occupational health consultation as directed by HR Manager and complete referral paperwork
• Assist HR Manager with paperwork regarding annual pay review and appraisal process
• Arrange training courses as directed by HR Manager and line managers and maintain employee training records
• Occasionally attend formal hearings as HR representative in absence of HR Manager
