Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the launch of the new policy for Absence Management, Discipline (Capability and Performance), Recruitment and Dispute Resolution
  • The successful candidate will proactively support key projects scheduled for delivery in 2021 led by other colleagues in HR, helping ensure HR policies and processes are developed and/or revised as needed to ensure the effectively of project actions
  • Support the launch of the new Behaviours Framework, leading the design and delivery of process guidelines for managers and staff to help embed Values and Behaviours into 'day to day’ processes
  • Support the development and launch of the new Performance Management Framework, leading the design of design and delivery of guidelines, processes and policy amendments to help translate performance management into everything we do
  • Support the development and launch of the new Recruitment Framework, leading policy and process design to support the embedding of Behaviours and Values into recruitment and selection
  • Support the delivery of the new Workforce Diversity Action Plan, supporting policy, process and guidance development to drive actions to improve workforce equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Champion the promotion of equality initiatives and undertake equality assessments for new policies, systems and processes as needed
  • Actively promote culture change and role model effective leadership behaviours, providing feedback, coaching and mentoring to others as appropriate
  • Lead and coordinate other HR policy and process reviews as identified, working closely with the Head of HR Operations, Systems and Projects and HR Systems and Operations Manager to update and cleanse policies as necessary and maximise the value and effectiveness of HR processes

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
MCIPD qualified (or equivalent demonstrable experience) Experience of working as a business focussed HR professional, delivering transformational organisational change and enhancing business performance through HR policy and process initiatives Expert and up to date knowledge of employment legislation, together with evidence of the practical application of this knowledge into policies, procedures and practices Knowledge and understanding of best practice in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, together with evidence of enhancing workforce diversity through policy and process change Knowledge of key trends and best practice in workforce data management, including practical applications and HR Management Information systems Experience of working in a busy environment with limited resources, prioritising demands and working to tight deadlines Effective communicator both verbally and in writing, with proven experience of writing policies, procedures, papers and documents Excellent planning and organisational skills, including effective project management, with the ability to troubleshoot problems and identify creative solutions Effective interpersonal skills, including influencing skills, with evidence of being able to quickly build relationships with a wide range of people at different levels Proficient IT skills including using workforce data to evidence and support initiatives and activities
