Job Description

Develops designs, including concepts, coordination, design documentation and contract administration on projects, while working as part of the project team.

• Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Contributes to the development of technical proposals.
• Develops design by gathering, correlating and analyzing engineering data using computer software and/or established procedures and standards. When possible, collects and analyses information from discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models
• Fully develops the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure production of high quality outputs in accordance with project timelines.
• Prepares and supervises the preparation of designs, calculations, specifications, sketches, diagrams, discipline BIM models, drawings, reports and tender documents.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Performs work with little supervision in accordance with a schedule and with an understanding of the budget.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers and CAD technicians
• Coordinates with other discipline engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process, including the performance of BIM spatial reviews (virtual walkthroughs and clash detection)
• Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Checks and ensures quality of model production by Revit/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions
• Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Maintains and develops the highest level of technical skills and abilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Is Chartered or is working to toward a chartership • Has experience in the defence, commercial and healthcare sectors • Bachelor of Science or Engineering from an accredited University or equivalent
