Job Description

Our Roads, Asset Management team in Nottingham is currently recruiting for a well organised and communicative Technical Assistant. Working under the guidance of the Associate, the successful candidate will be responsible for a growing demand in workload, providing administrative, technical, PMO and DPM assistance, as required.

Our Roads, Asset Management team is based within our Nottingham office. Although we have always offered remote working opportunities, due to the current climate most of the team are working from home 5 days per week. The team is well respected as experts in their field and require an individual with sound technical abilities to help enhance and grow the team.

Our clients are from the private and public sector and our leading UK clients include Highways England, Transport for London and a number of local authority organisations.

We have an impressive portfolio of major national and international infrastructure projects. A selection of our current and recent projects includes:

  • Design of the central section of the Thames Tideway Tunnel
  • Asset Management transformation services to Dubai RTA and KSA MoT
  • Materials research and design advice for Highways England and TfL
  • Schiphol Airport pavement investigation and design
  • Foundation and tunneling design for Stockholm Bypass
  • A303 Stonehenge Tunnel
  • Lower Thames Crossing GI

The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the job/project accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:

  • Support the Associate and other team members in the day to day administrative duties of the team, including basic project management functions.
  • Support the Associate and other team members in delivering high quality deliverables on a variety of transportation and infrastructure-based projects.
  • Coordinate and steer project activities to maximise the effectiveness of the team.
  • Contribute to business development activities and support team growth by helping develop the business pipeline.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience of administration and project management including financial performance measurement and project controls. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Ability to source, review, collate and report information from a variety of sources. Apply appropriate standards and technology in the performance of tasks. Worked with government transport-based clients (e.g. DfT, Highways England, Network Rail, London Underground, TfL, Transport Scotland, Office of Rail and Road, Rail Safety and Standards Board, local authorities), or in a research establishment (including well respected universities), is desirable. HNC/D in Civil Engineering or other relevant qualification would be desireable
