Job Description

Our team of Business Specialists are there to help our business customers reach their full potential. Working with our customer support and operational teams, you will be talking directly to our SME customers to ensure Starling can enable them to achieve their goals and using your customer insights to help Starling to continue to improve how we support our business customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding SME needs and talking to our SME customers about how to manage, optimize and grow their business with Starling.
  • Working with our SME customers to help resolve complex business-related questions, servicing queries and complaints with empathy.
  • Promoting Starling to potential Business Customers; including supporting their journey to join and helping them make the most of our specialist business products.
  • Providing specialist knowledge of businesses and the Starling business products to the rest of Starling (sometimes you may be called upon outside of ‘core’ working hours).
  • Collating feedback from our business customers on new product features and identifying improvements that would better meet their needs.
  • Coaching members of our Business support and operational teams; sharing your knowledge on how best to support business customers to help manage and mitigate queries.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to drive the growth of Starling Business products - including marketing opportunities, process improvement and training for other Business Specialists.
  • Supporting the launch of new products with insights from your experience of working with our customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience supporting business banking customers - either in a relationship management role, bank branch or contact Centre. Understanding of business banking onboarding requirements is highly desirable. Great relationship management skills and strong customer service orientation. Good understanding of business banking customer needs, confidence in providing guidance to SME owners. Problem solver with can-do attitude. Confidence managing difficult conversations. Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and quickly adapt to change. Willingness to work weekends and evenings.
