Finance Manager
Part-time, Contract - Remote
Job Description

As Finance and Office Manager, your responsibilities will include processing end-to-end finance operations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as relevant ad-hoc projects and requests:

  • Take responsibility for bank reconciliation using Xero, ensuring all information is accurately inputted and correctly processed
  • Take responsibility for completing VAT returns and submitting these to HMRC every quarter, using Xero
  • Keep the company’s Purchase Ledger updated on a weekly basis, ensuring all invoices are correctly logged. Use this information to make recommendations for weekly payments.
  • Take responsibility for overseeing the company’s Expense Policy, including correctly processing and logging expenses payments
  • Support the Director with payroll. This includes collating payroll variances on a monthly basis and liaising with the company’s accountants who will run the payroll. Ensure variances have been implemented correctly.
  • Work with the company’s accountants to ensure that pension information is kept up-to-date.
  • Ensure financial information is prepared on an accurate and timely manner for monthly management reporting. This includes keeping financial documents updated with actuals, as well as bi-annual cash flow forecasting.
  • Act as the point of contact for Accounts and related financial and administrative queries

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Highly experienced in using Xero software. Highly experienced in bookkeeping. Experience of completing VAT returns using Xero. Experience of cash flow forecasting and producing financial reports. Experience of creating and managing administrative processes. Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. High level of accountability. Highly motivated and be able to work independently and as part of the team. Strong experience operating in a variety of finance roles. Proficient in MS Office applications. Good organizational skills. Adaptable & flexible. Pro-active and diligent in approach, be willing to undertake challenging tasks and deliver to a high standard.
