Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and confidential HR advice, support and administration across the full range of HR activity; including employee relations issues, restructuring, redundancies, TUPE, terms and conditions of service, sickness and absence management support.
  • Provide guidance Support and advice on performance related issues
  • To provide guidance on current employment legislation and best practice.
  • Managing employment relations issues such as discipline, grievance, appeals, change and absence management are dealt with fairly, commercially and pragmatically. Identifying any potential risks to the business, conducting thorough investigations, fully considering the right course of action and identifying areas for improvement. Company and legal procedures are followed.
  • Develop and deliver training to meet the needs of the audience, i.e. delivery of ER workshops, design and support delivery of developmental sessions to communicate changes to Policy, case law, legislation updates, process improvements to ensure improved awareness within all relevant areas of business.
  • Maintain current and accurate information within the HRIS and shared drive and produces robust management information aligned to business needs. Always maintain GDPR.
  • Assist with the monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with the current legislation
  • Informing employees of their rights and entitlements and keeping them up to date on any changes that are made
  • Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations
  • Supporting the 2 HR Business Partners with HR projects, change management activity.
  • Identify opportunities to challenge and change ineffective practices and reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives

Standard Company Requirements

  • To comply with all Health and Safety requirements as outlined by the Health and Safety Executive and business.
  • To participate in all relevant quality programmes and assist as required in quality initiatives.
  • To comply with the guidelines of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to maintain an awareness and understanding of regulations that apply to the post.
  • Where the role includes any task relating to the purchasing, storage or sales of medicines, an understanding of the principles of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) is required.
  • At all times the post-holder should act in a way that supports the Company in maintaining its essential licences and certifications.
  • To ensure PPE issued by the business is worn in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Training is undertaken as recommended by your Manager.
  • Carry out any other reasonable request as requested by your Manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous hands-on Employees Relations experience. Experience of providing advice on complex Employee Relations issues to a range of stakeholders including senior managements and heads of service. Experience operating in a fast-paced professional environment Extensive experience of conducting investigations and supporting, coaching and guiding managers through investigations Strong working knowledge of employment legislation Experience of guiding managers and providing HR advice and counsel on performance management issues, grievances, disciplinaries, long term and short-term absence matters, and other employee relations case management and advisory Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of writing appropriate HR policies, procedures and documentation that are legally compliant and manage risk in an appropriate manner Significant experience in dealing with change management Evidence of delivery of training interventions to a broad spectrum of managers with varying levels of confidence. Strong organisational skills Can do attitude and work ethic with a persistent and willingness to work as a team Ability to prioritise and handle multiple projects and daily activities Strong working knowledge of employment legislation Experience Required Previous experience of operating as an Employee Relations Specialist and managing a large volume of employee relations issues IT Literate including experience of the Microsoft Office packages to an advanced level Qualifications Required CIPD or equivalent HR qualification and / or qualified by experience
