Job Description

You will need to be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to:

  • Lead Cost Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery, with appropriate support from others, including Associates and Directors.
  • Provide effective support and mentoring to Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.
  • Manage and ensure the delivery of Cost Management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Develop strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.

The successful candidate shall be charged with the delivery of Cost Management Services within our Client focused and highly motivated professional team

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management. Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution. A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a consulting or client environment providing the full spectrum of CM services including Pre Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution. Passionate about delivering high-quality consulting services to our clients. Understanding of JCT forms of contract. Proven ability to lead projects from the front and advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation. Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools shall be essential. Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner. Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors within our active sectors in the UK (and preferably the North) – i.e. Commercial Offices, Residential, Mixed Use, Education, Healthcare, and Industrial would be advantageous, as would experience in providing Employer’s Agent services.
