Currently engaged on a number of interesting and challenging projects both locally and overseas there are a number of opportunities for people of all grades to be involved in the range of work secured and anticipated. Our services offered to our clients include the full range and scope of highways work from inception to completion across all the key discipline areas. We work on schemes from feasibility stage through the development phase and planning and DCO process, preliminary design, detailed design and site supervision.
We have considerable experience of working with contractors on D&B schemes as well as working directly for clients, which come from the private and public sector.
The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the job/project accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:
Provide technical input, technical leadership and project management across a range of specialisms in the field of highway engineering.
Reporting to Associate Directors and Directors you will undertake a variety of tasks providing as an individual or through team effort, a range of design and written deliverables.
Show technical leadership and through experience mentor and guide the skills of others in computer based applications and tasks including use of software such as MX, OpenRoads, Civils3D, WinDES, and the Microsoft Office Suite of programmes including MS Project.
Undertake Project activities in line with Company Policy, including technical and commercial aspects, as appropriate to your grade.
Take a lead role on projects within skill area.
Plan, lead and undertake site visits, as required.
Plan and attend meetings – internal and external, as required.
Liaison with sub-consultants and external parties, as required.
Participate as a team member on a number of levels, including; office, discipline and project.
Be proactive and contribute to a safer work environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelors of Degree in Engineering field. We would expect a candidate at this level to be an Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered (CEng) Engineer.Extensive technical leadership and project management experience across a range of specialisms in the field of highway engineering Experience of team management including; line management; technical development and mentoring of staff; efficient resourcing of projects; Experience of monitoring financial and programme performance. Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment, operating across a matrix of projects. Experience of preparing and reviewing technical reports Experience of preparing for and attending meetings with clients and/or statutory consultees. Experience of working in the D&B arena particularly preparing tenders for contractors. Full awareness of H&S Legislation and how it is applied to the design process.
