An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 8C Assistant Director of Finance role to lead a team providing strategic financial advice and support on the delivery of the Health Board’s plans. The post will report to the Deputy Director of Finance and will have day to day responsibility for the maintenance and development of the medium-term financial planning strategy.

You will demonstrate skills and behaviors to make a sustained and positive contribution to the finance function’s development, supporting and becoming part of a high performing team delivering collaborative success and provide leadership to the team.

You will lead the development and control of the Health Board’s medium term strategic financial plan with a focus on the values agenda, which will sustain the organization’s financial wellbeing and ensure the sustainable delivery of our statutory financial targets. You will also lead on the monthly reporting, in line with the agreed timetables and the financial information required by WG and the Health Board.

You will be a CCAB qualified accountant, preferably with NHS finance experience plus relevant experience at both a senior management level and in management accounts. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and analytical skills and have experience of dealing with difficult situations and the ability to handle conflict in a positive and professional manner.
